Make your mark

  • Pick a clear and concise format and layout 
  • Use a simple font and font size to keep things clear and concise
  • Include both your top soft and hard skills
  • Include all previous work experience
  • Tailor your information for the job description and ensure it is up to date
  • List your experience in reverse chronological order for clarity 
  • Ensure to upload a pdf. version of your resume as many systems auto populate to avoid more work on your end

It’s your time to shine

  • Arrive early
  • Save and carefully read the job description and be prepared to discuss your direct experience in relation to the role
  • Research the company and understand their scope of work, mission, values and culture
  • Be prepared for situational and behavioral questions (research the STAR method)
  • Wear professional attire
  • If your interview is virtual, ensure your device is set up adequately
  • Bring a printed copy of your up-to-date resume, references, and any necessary credentials or portfolios of work

Canadian Natural operates one of the largest Campus Recruitment programs in Canada. Students hired on with us are made to feel a part of the team, gaining high-level experience, knowledge, and training that introduces and prepares you for full-time employment. Many of our co-op students are successfully hired for permanent positions upon graduation.
